Q: Who should attend?
A: Application developers responsible for Z-based applications, team leads, architects, and DevX/productivity leaders will find the greatest value.
Q: I’m already using Code4z. Will this Developer Day be useful?
A: Unless you’re already deep into AI adoption, the event will be useful as the focus is AI use cases and application modernization.
Q: I’m not sure how to gain approval
A: Here’s some language to help with the approval process.
“I’d like to request approval to attend the Code4z Developer Day, 22 April in Prague.
The event focuses on an AI-enabled Z developer experience, which directly aligns with my responsibility for productivity. I expect to come back with practical insights and best practices I can share with the team.

Q: Do I need to know VS Code, Git, etc.?
A: No, facilitators will be on hand to guide participants of all levels and answer questions. Regarding version control, Git native and Endevor native code samples will be available (COBOL only).
Q: Will the event be valuable if we haven’t adopted VS Code and Git yet?
A: Yes. Adoption patterns will be covered, which should help inform your adoption journey.
Q: We haven’t done anything with AI yet? Should I attend?
A. Yes. We’ll share current enterprise AI practices and mainframe adoption insights (e.g., use cases, prevailing toolsets, compliance considerations). Architects and team leads will find this content particularly useful.
Q: This event is co-located with the Mainframe Technical Exchange - can I attend that event too?
A: Yes, you are free to attend the MTE events and sessions the day before and after the DevDay.
Q: I’m not currently responsible for Z applications - should I attend?
A: The event is designed for Z application developers, team leads, and architects, and uses COBOL for the workshops, so those in other roles will find limited value.
Q: I’m not allowed to use my work laptop. Can I still participate?
A: We will have a limited number of loaners available - just let us know to confirm availability.
